WARG, 88.9FM, is the student run radio station for Argo Community High School . We broadcast every Monday – Friday from 10:00am – 6:30pm . All of the disc jockeys are current Argo students. WARG broadcasts at 500watts and reaches approximately a ten mile radius from the school.

WARG has been broadcasting from the fourth floor of Argo Community High School since 1976. Listeners in those beginning years heard a lot of Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, and Bruce Springsteen. WARG also played its fair share of disco. Over the years there have been many specialty shows highlighting different music genres like jazz, classical, country, and blues.

Music has changed quite a bit since the 1970s, and WARG always tries to stay a few steps ahead of everyone else to bring the most variety of rock and roll. Anyone tuning in today is going to hear the music that won't be heard on any other station in the area. On any given day our listeners will be treated to songs from Elvis Costello or Mest or The Fruitbats or Taking Back Sunday or The Smiths or Johnny Cash. In addition to the numerous c.d.'s in our music library our DJs still play songs from a wide variety of vinyl records. With all of the music at our fingertips we can make every attempt to play any request that comes in on our request line.

With only a small number of high school radio stations throughout the country WARG represents a unique opportunity for the students at Argo Community High School . Tune in and listen to WARG, 88.9FM, to hear some of the best, and most original, on-air talent in Chicagoland radio.
